Here is luscious paper featuring two wonderful Edwardian illustrations from Kay Nielsen, gleaned from a damaged 1983 reference on children's book illustrators.
The originals of both these works were included in the classic Sir Arthur Quiller-Couch 1913 edition of 'In Powder and Crinoline'. Their stories and captions read -
'It's about the Princess, my daughter. She has not smiled for a while year', "John and the Ghosts"
'And the mirror told him that his were indeed the withered face and form', "The Man Who Never Laughed"
Either side is wondrously frame-worthy - no doubt your most difficult decision. The 2-sided paper is nicely heavy and measures 8.25" x 11" (21x28 cm). There are no tears, folds, creases, or marks.
Kay Rasmus Nielsen (Danish illustrator, 1886-1957) was popular in the early 20th century during the "Golden Age of Illustration", which lasted from when printing pioneers developed technology to the point that drawings and paintings could be reproduced with reasonable facility.
Nielsen is also known for his collaborations with Disney for whom he contributed many story sketches and illustrations, including his work on "Fantasia" ('Night on Bald Mountain').
Both of these illustrations will be perfect for card and tag creations, scrap-book page making, collage, decoupage. A beautiful paper to frame and gift for the new baby's room or for your young Princess's reading corner.
You are purchasing an original 1983 paper and it does not have watermarks. I will send this out for you flat, protected, and by USPS 1st Class Mail.
