Here is a lovely engraved lithograph of Sir Joshua Reynold's 1797 oil painting, gleaned from a 1927 collection of children's poems, stories, fables, and art.
Five cherubs posing in different positions against a background of sky and light. The story goes that Sir Reynolds was commissioned by Lord William Gordon to paint a portrait of his daughter, 5-year-old Frances Isabella Gordon. Lord Gordon was so pleased with the sketch-work studies for the portrait that he asked that the sketch-work be the painting.
On its reverse, a lovely lithograph from Jean-Julian Simeon Chardin's oil painting, 'The Blessing', where the mother is seen teaching her daughters good customs in the routine of simple day-to-day living.
The heavy paper is clean and without folds, marks, tears, or creases and measures 7" x 9.125" (18x23 cm). This is a lovely paper - luscious, rich styling, a beautiful work to frame, wonderful for your art - tag and card creations, scrap-book page making, collage.
You are purchasing an original 1927 paper and it does not have watermarks. I will send this to you flat, protected, and by USPS 1st Class Mail.
