Here is a beautiful paper featuring 2 luscious Kay Nielsen illustrations, gleaned from a damaged a 1983 reference book on children's book illustrators. Both prints were originally printed as illustrations from Sir Arthur Quiller Couch's 1912 "In Powder and Crinoline" and their captions and stories are -
'Each was delicious in her different way; and, for the life of him, he could not make up his mind' from 'Rosanie or The Inconstant Prince'
'The ship headed about and sped over the depths of the sea' from 'The Man Who Never Laughed'
Kay Rasmus Nielsen (Danish illustrator, 1886-1957) was popular in the early 20th century during the "Golden Age of Illustration", which lasted from when printing pioneers developed technology to the point that drawings and paintings could be reproduced with reasonable facility.
Nielsen is also known for his collaborations with Disney for whom he contributed many story sketches and illustrations, including his work on "Fantasia" ('Night on Bald Mountain').
The heavy, 2-sided paper measures 8.25" x 11" (21x28 cm), and there are no tears, folds, creases, or marks. Either image will be lovely framed - perfect for card and tag creations, scrap-book page making, collage. Perhaps you'll gift this framed for the new baby's room or for your young reader's corner.
You are purchasing an original 1983 paper and it does not have watermarks. I will send this to you flat, protected, and by USPS 1st Class Mail.
