Product Description

Here are two beautiful illustrations from Edmund Dulac, gleaned from a damaged a 1983 children's book illustrations reference book. The originals of both lithographs were included in the 1911 edition of "Stories From Hans Andersen" in the story 'The Garden of Paradise'. The captions read -

'The Fairy of the Garden now advanced to meet them, her garments shone like the sun, and her face beamed like that of a happy mother rejoicing over her child.'

and

'The eagle in the great forest flew swiftly but the Eastwing flew more swiftly still.'

Edmund Dulac (1882-1953) was one of the great figures from the Golden Age of Illustration. Born in Toulouse, France, Dulac was artistically inclined from adolescence. He switched from law to art and moved to London where he was in tremendous demand from publishers.

The heavy, 2-sided paper measures 8.25" x 11" (21x28 cm), is smooth and clean and without tears, folds, creases, or marks. Perfect to frame for the new adventure reader ... perfect for your collage work, tag and card creations.

You are purchasing an original 1983 2-sided paper and it does not have watermarks. I will send this to you flat, protected, and by USPS 1st Class Mail.
