Here is the English artist J. M. W. Turner's beautiful 1839 oil painting presented here as a lovely lithograph and gleaned from a 1927 collection of children's poems, stories, fables, and art.
The painting depicts one of the last 'ships of the line' which played a distinguished role in the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805, the 'HMS Temeraire', being towed towards its final berth in east London in 1838 where it was broken up for scrap. The painting hangs in the National Gallery, London, having been bequeathed to the nation by the artist in 1851.
Presented in lovely, warm tones of russets, golds and brown, Turner's work is a loving tribute and considered one of Britain's national treasures.
The heavy paper is blank on its reverse, measures 7" x 9.125" (18x23cm), and shows little tanning. The paper is clean and without folds, marks, tears, or creases.
A lovely subject to frame and gift ... wonderful for your art - card and tag creations, scrap book page making, collage, decoupage.
You are purchasing an original 1927 lithograph and it does not have watermarks. I will send this out for you flat, protected, and by USPS 1st Class mail.
