Here is a beautiful paper featuring two Kay Nielsen illustrations, gleaned from a damaged 1983 reference book on children's book illustrators. Both illustrations are from "Fairy Tales of Hans Christian Andersen" and the originals of these were included in the 1926 1st edition, a project that took Nielsen 12 years to complete
The captions read -
'The draught of air caught the dancer, and she flew like a sylph just into the stove to the tin soldier.' - ["The Hardy Tin Soldier"]
'That was a pleasure voyage. Sometimes the forest was thick and dark, sometimes like a glorious garden full of sunlight and flower.' - ["Ole Luk-Oie"]
Kay Rasmus Nielsen (Danish illustrator, 1886-1957) was popular in the early 20th century during the "Golden Age of Illustration", which lasted from when printing pioneers developed technology to the point that drawings and paintings could be reproduced with reasonable facility.
Nielsen is also known for his collaborations with Disney for whom he contributed many story sketches and illustrations, including his work on "Fantasia" ('Night on Bald Mountain').
The heavy, 2-sided paper measures 8.25" x 11" (21x28 cm), and there are no tears, folds, creases, or marks.
Either image will be lovely framed - perfect for your card and tag creations, for scrap book page making, collage. Perhaps you'll frame this and gift for the new baby's room or for your young reader's corner.
You are purchasing an original 1983 paper and it does not have watermarks. I will send this to you flat, protected, and by USPS 1st Class Mail.
