'Cheerfulness' - 1858 Edmund Thomas Parris Antique Victorian Fashion Engraving
Known for his landscapes and his portraits of Royals, this classically composed work of three muses was a significant departure for Parris.
And 'Cheerfulness' is the perfect title - the young women on a bright day in a pastoral setting; three beautiful muses in frothy, flowing gowns, their hair in classic Greek stylings - it is a breath of fresh air! A gorgeously detailed engraving, beautiful and bright - this *is* cheerful, the girls in close friendship and play as they enjoy their day.
The heavy paper is blank on its reverse and the edges are clean and smooth. The card measures 8.125" x 10.625" (21x27 cm) and actual engraving measures 6.125" x 8.125" (16x21 cm). There are no tears, folds, creases, or marks. A beautiful study to frame - for your dressing room or studio, the bath or bedroom. Fantastic to use in your art - tag and card creations, scrap-book page making, collage.
You are purchasing an original 1858 engraving and it does not have watermarks. I will send this to you flat, protected, and by USPS 1st class mail.
