Here is an heroic Joseph Ratcliffe Skelton [J. R. Skelton] lithograph, gleaned from a 1927 collection of children's poems, stories, fables, and art. Originally included in Henrietta E. Marshall's 1908 "Stories of Beowulf Told To Children", the lithograph is captioned -
"Beowulf Raised His Mighty Shield"
The pastel jewel tones and with Beowulf standing heroically at the bow, Skelton's work is Viking-warrior epic. The heavy paper is blank on its reverse and little tanning is seen. The paper is clean and bright and without folds, marks, tears, or creases and measures 7" x 9.125" (18x23cm).
A delightful subject to frame and gift for your adventurous new reader ... wonderful for your art - card and tag creations and scrap-book page making, collage.
You are purchasing an original 1927 paper and it does not have watermarks. I will send this to you flat, protected, and by USPS 1st Class Mail.
